80 Years of God's Work in Union County!!!!

In a tent revival on a vacant lot near the Ellen Fitzgerald Hospital the Church of the Nazarene came to Monroe, NC. From that revival a church was formed and on August 28, 1929 the church was officially organized. From a rented schoolhouse in Benton Heights to its current location on Secrest Shortcut Road the church has continued to spread the message of God in this community. In it's eighty year history the church has owned three church buildings. The first being on Church Street where they worshipped for 14 years. The second one was on Skyway Drive where the church saw continued growth. Our current location has been a true blessing where God has given us a great deal of space to accomplish great things. On Easter Sunday, 2004, First Church of the Nazarene officially became Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene. With a new vision and a group filled with God's presence, we have moved forward to reach our community for Christ. Our best days are now and will continue to be in the future as we reach out to share the Love of Christ with our world. Today, He is still the hope this world needs, He is still the hope this world is looking for and we will continue to share that hope with our community and with our world.

On August 15 & 16 we are planning a celebration of God's goodness to our church and to our community. On Saturday we will celebrate with our families and give back to our community as we set up a fun day of fellowship and worship. Our children will enjoy a field full of games, inflatables, and fun. There will be a flatbed truck where we will share music with our community. We want everyone to share in this day with us. On Sunday we will celebrate with a worship service giving God the praise for all He has done and will do in our church. Dr. J.K. Warrick, General Superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene will be our guest speaker for the day. We are anticipating a great day in the Lord. We hope you will be able to join us for these exciting days of celebration.
